DID saved my life…

I was thinking how odd it is to consider the very gift which saved my life to be a disorder. Maybe pedophilia is the disorder? Anyway, more on this later. It’s hot hot hot (no air conditioning), neighbors are filling the skies with fireworks, and me—well, I’m still trying to work up the nerve to come out to my family. It’s not 4th of July, yet, which is my targeted date for the big pronouncement. So I’m here at my desk with a fan blowing my hair back, thinking about all this DID stuff, and I decided to make the little animated text below, I suppose in protest to how we multiples are usually depicted by Hollywood. Maybe there should be a DID awareness day, or month, or something, huh?

  1. Absolutely–I say so often that I built a survival foundation–and how creative of me to do it the way I did as a child. I thank her for creating me and bringing me here to keep her safe. I feel trusted and she’s able to sleep now.

  2. its hard to understand that something that is so hard to understand let alone live with can save your life, but in our case we truly know without splitting we would not be here great blog 🙂
